Sculpture by the Sea

My friend and I decided to visit Bondi beach and walk to Tamarama for the Sculpture by the Sea event that occurs every year around this time. This is the very first time in my 5 years here that I have been to this.

Unfortunately, I didn't particularly choose the right day. Yes, it rained. When I left home it was overcast but I had hope. We had lunch first (yummy smoked salmon baguettes) and then took the bus from Bondi Junction to Bondi beach. Just as we got on the bus, it began to rain. It was a light rain but still enough to annoy you. We persisted with the walk despite not having an umbrella and it was worth it.

Here's why:

Hope you all had a lovely weekend!

Can't believe it's finished. Sigh.

Have a good week everyone!!

Until next time,

Cheers!!!

  4. What strikes me most here, is its an anual event that, by the sounds of it, is fairly popular and not all that far off. And still, in 5 years of being there, its the first time you have been there.

I suffer from the same problem here on the North Coast of California. I can hear the Pacific Ocean from my porch. I have miles and miles of sandy beaches all around me. I have a redwood forrest in my back yard. There are a thousand things to do and see and yet I rarely do any of them.

Apparently I need to get out more.

  11. @ Soin: Yeah it was! And there was another sign saying 'You are here' which was also quite funny...

@ Matt: Yeah quite enjoyed it inspite of the weather...

@ Titaxy: Ooh...sand sculptures would be great. I expected something like that but it's not all sand. In fact there was just one and that was the shoes thingy...

@ AGuynAGirl: Tell me about it! I need to get out more too. Too much of a homebody here...

    @ Mahmud: Thanks!

@ Chantel: I actually heard from someone who goes every year that this year wasn't so great. But I loved it!
