To catch the BPL action and also be part of future editions and other contests, visit and register at Cafe GingerChaiHe had a speech prepared. His lips trembled as he read it; a tear running down his cheek.
The media had made his errors seem a lot bigger than the reality. The influenced public was losing faith. Thanks to the media, he was ousted. By his own party.
Kevin Rudd was no longer Prime Minister.

Must check out Bloggers Premier League. Go Psych Babbler! :)
ReplyDeleteThe media is something that is all-pervasive. I bet it influences us psychologically in ways we are not even aware of. I have noticed, *gulp* as I get older, that younger people are less responsive socially. Not anti-social, but they are better at blocking things out and I think it comes from dealing with an over-saturation of media in our society.
Another interesting point in your article is the power of media to almost 'create reality', regardless of what is objectively real. Hmm, ok, enough outta me!
yayy! you published my most fav one :) This one's is really good PB :) Loved it. Goooo raiders!!!!! :)
ReplyDeletehey nice one PB..media is indeed scary! all the best :)
ReplyDeletei always wonder......how can people write with restriction and still come up with such powerful words.........

Thanks LP! Sarah Palin is a media wreck, isn't she? But I reckon her PR people could help out if needed... =P
ReplyDeleteThanks Shilpa!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ritu...you too...
ReplyDeleteThanks T! =D
ReplyDeleteHaha...thanks Parth! Good luck to you too...
ReplyDeleteIt's a fun contest...although sometimes a lot of work when you are really busy... =P I think the media manages to brainwash a lot of people...most of us probably don't think critically and don't seem to realise that the media is sensationalising information...because truly, that's all they do. Sensationalise. Gone are the days when they reported the facts. If you listen to the words they use, you can tell how they are influencing people. Everything is a 'disaster' or a 'catastrophe' or 'terrible' and 'awful'. And then they wonder why so many people have mental health issues...I could go on and on on my media-bashing! Give me ABC and SBS any day...
ReplyDelete=) Yeah Ava...tweaked it a bit and published it in the end as I too was partial to it...
ReplyDeleteThanks Neha...good luck to you too...
ReplyDeleteThanks Hitesh...and I wonder how people can write such long stories! =)
ReplyDeleteThanks Sid! The header is still my sister's creation and I changed the background because I thought it went better with her new header...
ReplyDeleteThanks Smitha...definitely do think that Rudd was given the boot because of how the media portrayed him. He was actually a pretty decent PM barring a couple of debacles. Nowhere near how bad Bush was for the US. And yet, the media portrayed it as heinous crimes and seemed to conveniently forget all the good he did resulting in his decline in the 'public opinion polls'.
ReplyDeleteThanks Leo...go the Raiders!
ReplyDeleteThanks Starry! Will take on the tag soon...
ReplyDeletei always thought long story are written when author go on rambling about things.........but 55'er saves the readers from that.... :D
ReplyDeleteLol... :P
